The Beginning, and a close up look at Flowers

So I've decided to have a photography blog for 2 reasons: this will serve as encouragement to get out and take more photos, and I'm genuinely curious if there is an interest for my style and perspective. I want to canvas more of my work, but if its crap I'd rather swallow hard now and try my hand at something else before I lose any more of my hair. I will try and post once a week on Fridays, but this is a trial run.

Please Comment. Thats why I'm doing this and feel free to say exactly what you think as I have a pretty thick skin. However - don't bother checking my spelling cause we would be here all night.

With out further ado - Here are a few photos I took while Dayna was recouping from her surgery. Bonus points if you can identify the type of flowers.

PLEASE ASK FOR PERMISSION BEFORE USING. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
(or whatever I'm suppose to say these days)

Till next Friday!

  1. You don't know me, but I know and love DJ and I also know and love photography, so I thought I'd comment! These are nice! Very pretty! But I have no idea what kind of flowers they are so I guess I get no bonus points! First one could be framed a little better have a more dominant point of focus, interesting angle on the second one I like how you get up close and personal, third one is ok, interesting, the different angle is nice, fourth one is very nice, my favorite of the bunch! I think you have a good eye and a creative way of looking at things, I'm interested to see more! Keep it up!

I have to say, I think the second one is my favorite.

  3. Benjamin, I really love these. The colors are beautiful. I am looking for art for our newly redecorated bedroom. A calm green is the main color then mixing it up with rusts, oranges, yellows, etc. When you show me stuff in that range, I'll be pretty excited. Anyways, thanks for sharing your heart in these photos. Please keep it up. Love you!

  4. Sara ~ I really appreciate those points. I've incorporated the changes you suggested and you were totally right. With the flower in the focal point a little more forefront, the picture really pops!

Judy ~ I'm looking though my stuff to see what I have now. Your room sounds like it would be perfect for your place!

Thanks for all the comments everyone!
